DOWNLOAD FLYER HERE: 2018 Sisters in Solidarity Draft Poster v5 with speakers
The planning of the celebration is going well. We are finalizing the agenda and have confirmed the speakers. As a reminder, Contra Costa County District Attorney Diana Becton will be our keynote speaker. This year, we will have a preconference activity in the courtyard for those of you who would like a low impact physical activity. Qigong will be offered from 9:40am to 10:00am. Qigong is a Chinese system of physical exercises and breathing control related to tai chi. By popular demand, we will bring back the table visits to exchange information and gain knowledge on the services/resources available from the various local organizations that will be in attendance.
Please help us to spread the word. We look forward to celebrating International Women’s Day with you.

Fiscal Year (FY) 2018-2019 ECIA Grant Program Applications are Available!
In 2014, the Richmond City Council approved the Chevron Environmental and Community Investment Agreement (ECIA), which invests $90 million dollars into the Richmond community over 10-years. $6 million of those dollars have been set aside for a competitive grant program, designed for non-profits and governmental agencies who serve Richmond in the areas of community, youth, and youth sports. The ECIA has grant awards that range from $2,500, up to $50,000.
Important changes have been made to the grant guidelines, especially the eligibility criteria, so please read them carefully. Of special note, organizations awarded grants of more than $10,000 in FY 17-18 are ineligible to apply in FY 18-19.
Note: Due dates are 2/20.
To kick-off this opportunity, the City has scheduled two (2) Information and Grant Writing Workshops to be held on:
- Tuesday, February 20, 2018, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
- Tuesday, February 27, 2018, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm
Both events will be held at 440 Civic Center Plaza, Richmond 94804.
